Treatment Policy

Doctor Consultations:

If one of your results comes back positive, guidance on next steps will be available to you. A physician from our medical network may review your results and attempt to contact you regarding the finding. Contact attempts are typically made by phone using the information provided during your intake. If the physician is unable to reach you directly, a message may be sent through your secure patient dashboard, if applicable, with instructions on how to connect.

During this follow-up conversation, the physician may:

• explain your results and what they mean
• discuss possible treatment options when appropriate
• answer questions about the infection
• provide guidance on recommended next steps for care

Communication attempts and timing may vary depending on provider availability and clinical workflow.

Prescriptions and Treatment:

Some infections can be treated with prescription medication. When treatment is clinically appropriate and permitted under state regulations, a physician may prescribe medication following a positive result and medical evaluation. This decision is at the discretion of the reviewing physician.

Treatment for the following may be available depending on the individual case and applicable state laws:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Trichomoniasis
  • Mycoplasma genitalium
  • Bacterial vaginosis

Not all conditions can be treated through our platform. Some infections require in-person medical care, additional testing, or ongoing clinical management.

We cannot treat:

  • Syphilis
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hepatitis C
  • HIV
  • HSV1 & HSV2

If one of these infections is detected, the reviewing physician may help guide you toward appropriate next steps for care, which may include referral to a local healthcare provider or clinic.
